Mrs Wong called me today. Her husband passed away suddenly without leaving behind a Will. Now, three of her houses which are under joint names with her late husband has a new joint owner - her mother-in-law.
She asked her mother-in-law if she could sell her 1/4 share in her late husband's 50% share to her. The mother-in-law said 'No, I want to will my share to my three other sons when I pass away in the future'.
Mrs Wong was very angry but she can not do anything to stop her.
All these anger and frustration can be avoided if her late husband has written a Will.

A man with 2 Wills
Mr. Wong has 2 families. He went to a legal firm to write a Will to will away his assets that are held under joint names with his wife, Ms Susan to her and went to another legal firm to write another Will that will away assets that are held under joint names with Anne, the mistress to her.
He did this is because he wanted to keep secret of his assets distribution.
Mr. Wong called me 2 days ago to ask my opinion if what he did was correct. I told him that his second Will actually revoked his earlier Will and Susan will get nothing. Quickly he rewrite a new Will and and put down all his asset in one new Will and appoint Rockwills Trustee Berhad as his executor. This appointment will prevent contentions among the two families.
